BRANDING · PACKAGING

There’s a particular type of wanderer that thrives in a dense forest location.
They have a sense for their surrounds and thick skin like bark.

Tall Timbers brews for those of that same spirit, a name for locals to be proud
of and a true tale that seems as tall as the tree tops.

Tall Timbers Brewing Co. required a complete re-brand ahead of releasing their core range to the retail market.

The Manjimup team had previously only sold packaged beer locally and were looking to expand into a wider retail market. The aim of the brand was to celebrate the unique history of the southwest forest region and to put Manjimup on the map of the WA craft scene.

Due diligence showed locals were choosing Swanny D’s over anything else, which meant to have a shot at shaking up the market the brand had to be visually strong and iconic without being too experimental and funky.

I drew inspiration from the monumental height of the Jarrah and Karri forests of the region, namely the Diamond Tree. The Forest Fermenter symbol is a beacon above the trees and is a nod to the surreal Fire Watch Towers dating back to the 1940’s that sit high in these trees.

The core range colours feature highlights from the Southern Forest region and allowed for a vibrant palette to compliment the structured, mechanical application of the logo and text.

The Tall Timbers range is now available at Independent bottle shops & Dan Murphys stores across W.A.
